OpenAI is planning to ship a new ChatGPT-powered product by 2026, but we aren't looking at yet another model.

In the U.S. v. Google antitrust, a slide deck pointed out that OpenAI has plans to “ship a [redacted] by 2026."

The redacted line comes from the very first slide of their H1 2025 strategy, dated December 2, 2024.

According to the document, “Today, ChatGPT is in our lives through existing form factors — our website, phone, and desktop apps.”

OpenAI hopes that ChatGPT will help in your life, no matter where you are, which appears to suggest that ChatGPT could soon expand beyond website and apps.

ChatGPT “should help answer questions, play music, and suggest recipes,” while on the go, it “should help you get to places, find the best restaurants, or catch up with friends.”

In the office, it would “help you take meeting notes, or prepare for the big presentation.”

"We want ChatGPT to be [REDACTED]… The best AI is the one that’s right there with you. To do this, we will [REDACTED] 3P Confidential [REDACTED] But the best path to delivering this is [REDACTED], which will remain internally confidential for now," OpenAI wrote.

"We won’t [REDACTED] in 2025. Our aim is to [REDACTED] by 2026, but to get there, we need to start preparing now."

If you put it all together, it seems to suggest that OpenAI is working on hardware that runs ChatGPT natively and allows you to use AI in your life.
